FAQ

FAQ

Short answers to what students ask before they install.

Do I need a Google account?

Yes. You sign in with a Google account, and your lectures are kept under it.

Does it work offline?

No. Without internet there is no transcription and no questions.

What does it learn about me — and what doesn’t it?

It learns from your answers to questions built from your own lectures, the reviews you close and your exam date, so it can suggest what to do now. It gives no grade, never compares you with others and shows no mastery percentages. Each topic gets one word: not strong yet, not clear yet, or enough, with the amount of evidence behind it. Everything stays in your account.

What happens after the 3 free hours?

The transcripts, summaries and questions you already have stay in your account. To keep transcribing, you buy minutes inside the extension; the price is shown there before you buy.

Does the lecturer know I am recording?

Recording is your responsibility. Tell the lecturer and follow your institution’s rules. The extension transcribes what the browser hears, including people speaking in the room. Recordings and transcripts stay in your account and are never shared unless you choose to.

Where are my lectures kept?

In the personal area (bnotes.ai/app), sorted by course. You can export and delete at any time.

Does it work on a phone?

The extension is for Chrome on a computer. The personal area, with the transcripts and questions, opens on a phone too.
